There are only two ways to secure a ticket to the Toyota AFL Grand Final:
- Be an eligible member of one of the two competing clubs and obtain a ticket through that club’s ballot. If you are a Priority 1 member, you are effectively guaranteed a GF ticket if the club is competing.
Purchase a hospitality package that includes a ticket (available to anyone).
Option 1: Club Member Ballot
Because demand for Grand Final tickets is extremely high, the AFL uses a ballot system (random draw) to give eligible members a fair chance.
How does the ballot work?
- Demand for Grand Final tickets is huge, so the AFL uses a ballot (random draw) to give eligible members a fair chance.
- If the West Coast Eagles progress through finals, eligible members can register for the ballot.
- Registration happens before the Preliminary Final. If the Eagles win the Prelim, the ballot runs the next day, and allocates GF tickets based on registrations
- Eligible members will be given windows of time in which to register, based on their priority group
- Each competing club gets about 16,000 tickets, but there are more members than tickets—so not everyone who registers will get one.
- Tickets are allocated randomly, within priority groups, not by registration order. This means no long queues; it's not a first-in, best-dressed situation.
Who can register?
Priority Groups
- Priority 1:
- Club 87, Blue & Gold Terrace, A Reserve, Victorian Platinum, Victorian Captain’s Club
- There are fewer Priority 1 members than tickets, so if you register correctly, you’re guaranteed a ticket (but not a specific seat type).
- Priority 2:
- B, C, D, E Reserve, Victorian Gold, Interstate members
- There are more Priority 2 members than tickets, so some will miss out.
- Not eligible:
- Flexi members, In The Wings, and other non-access members.
- Flexi members, In The Wings, and other non-access members.
Option 2: Hospitality Packages
Anyone can purchase a package that includes a Grand Final ticket and hospitality. Availability and pricing vary. Check official AFL channels for details.
